Teach Canada Program Eligibility

To be eligible for the Teach Canada Program, applicants typically need to meet the following criteria:

 

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
    • A teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education, Post-Graduate Certificate in Education) from an accredited institution.
    • Transcripts of all post-secondary education.
  • Teaching Experience:
    • Generally, a minimum of 1-2 years of full-time teaching experience in a recognized educational setting is required.
    • Experience at the grade level or subject area you wish to teach in Canada is often preferred.
  • Language Proficiency:

  •  Criminal Record Check:
    • A clear criminal record check from your home country and any country you have resided in for a significant period.

  • Professional References:
    • Typically, two or more professional references from previous supervisors or school administrators are required.
  • Provincial Certification Requirements:

Each province/territory has its own specific requirements for credential assessment and certification. Applicants must meet the certification standards of the province they intend to teach in. This may involve:
